Mvunyane is a rural area situated in the North of KwaZulu Natal. Yebozululand taught the community of Mvunyane sewing, beadwork and upholstery skills to give them alternative and various ways of making money. They are currently navigating their way through these different industries. The system we teach as the organization requires participants to utilize a pattern maker which they didn’t have. Chameleon donated a pattern maker, sewing machine and an Italian Pattern Making Book to them which will enable them to practice sewing in a way they are familiar with. We normally share orders with different groups to assist them make money which means uniformity is also important hence utilizing a pattern maker is also vital. They specialize in aprons, traditional skirts, shirts and designer dresses. They share their knowledge amongst each other so each could be experienced in each department. They are looking into supplying for larger organizations and planning on training and hiring more staff to achieve that. The donations issued by Chameleon has offered them an opportunity to succeed in their aim to grow as an organization.
The group in Mvunyane has trained individuals from their community who currently form part of their organization. They are always keen on learning new things and finding more ways on making money. Their main focus is to grow as the organization.
