Agriculture Projects
Life in the rural regions of KwaZulu/Natal is characterized by high unemployment. To counteract this, three main priorities are being pursued in our agriculture projects:
- As many people as possible are to be given the opportunity of self-sufficiency. To this end, land was purchased and fenced, simple tools such as hoes, spades or wheelbarrows were handed out, and people are trained by advisors on site and accompanied in cultivation.
- The second goal is to improve the overall food supply so that healthy and inexpensive food can be offered for sale. We offer food directly or by associated groups, which we help by advising them on growing vegetables, giving them seedlings and helping with marketing.
- Finally the third goal is to train young people in agriculture. The training period is 6 to 12 months at our demonstration field. Through a cooperation with the Agric-College of Eshowe, students can also do their internship at yebozululand.
On the page Gardens and Farms are all current locations (as of 2025) supported by Yebozululand.
